  Had some Coopers beers on tap that I've never seen or even heard of before. Really great pub and friendly service. The pinball machine was the cherry on top!

  We had our Christmas party at the Austral last night, the staff were amazing! They delivered on our needs to accommodate our late arrivals because of our working hours. Priska was our host. She is worth her weight in gold, making sure things went to plan and exceeding expectations. Food was lovely and timed perfectly. Thanks for an awesome night x

  "Good, no nonsense pub serving good, no nonsense Coopers Ale. A big plus is that the tables are so sticky your pint is unlikely to accidentally slide off."
  
  The above review is a little old now and the Austral has changed management and had a facelift. Tables are no longer sticky for example. The attached photos show the new 'look'. The beer is still the same but something has been lost in atmosphere, although that might just be me struggling (as ever) to adapt to change.

  Pretty cute place right opposite the botanical gardens. Friendly service and a good bar.

  Great place for drinks and atmosphere on the weekends! And they serve great shots called the cookie monster i suggest people try them!
