  We have been a client of the PCU for decades. Recently, we were flabbergasted by the appalling lack of service and in-house systemic deficiencies.Our credit card wouldn't work even though the call centre staff said it could, that nothing was wrong.
  
  After a week and a half, we called the Lost & Stolen number to be told a block had been placed on the card. During that time there had been no follow up, no heads up...nothing. Good thing we were not overseas or out of town.
  
  Apparently, if a client uses their credit card via the magnetic strip, their system blocks the transaction. If a chip reader doesn't work-- you're out of luck.There is a PayWave facility on the cards now however the daily limit is $400 OR 4 transactions of any amount up to $100 per transaction,up to the daily limit. So, if a client used the credit card and processed four transaction amounts whether it was as little as $1 , they'd be at their daily transactional limit however not the monetary limit. Not very customer-centric!
  
  We were told that in January 2016 all retailers were notified that only the chip could be used. This was news to the handful of retailers we asked regarding this new modality! Was told to use our regular bank account or take enough cash out and that any charges above our monthly quota would not be reimbursed. Thus, the lack of lack of timely notification was one issue, then the absence of client accommodation was another. Bad optics...
  
  At the time, none of these internal policies and procedures ( the card's magnetic strip) were disseminated to front line staff, much less prominently displayed to PCU clients on their website or via newsletter. No offer of any kind of restitution and little by way of apology proffered. Overall, unacceptable service offered to long time clients. Seemingly, PCU could care less about client retention and have little notion about the concept of market share. All in all, a bad experience and disappointing behaviour, so we have little choice but to move all accounts elsewhere.
